ABOUT US
I started this project after my and my family's experiences as children in hospitals. I have spent four months and over ten admissions in hospital due to chronic illnesses. I have undergone procedures, surgeries, scans, and met all kinds of healthcare professionals. My brother has also had similar experiences due to the genetic nature of chronic illnesses, and many friends have also spent time in the hospital.
I know how scary and isolating it can be to be alone in a hospital. I know how it can feel to be the ‘sick kid’ who’s never at school, and the stigma that surrounds that. I've seen the struggles my family and friends have gone through as they fight against illness.
I started this project to let kids in hospitals know that they’re not alone and that someone on the outside cares for them. I want them to know that they have the courage and the support needed to make it through their treatment. I try to give them something that can distract and comfort them while they navigate the hospital system.
